The pressure resistance of PTFE expansion joints is reduced at higher temperatures. We advise you to apply the standard design from our Welflex catalogue.

Axial PTFE expansion joints
An axial PTFE expansion joint consist of a PTFE bellow with a PTFE collar and turnable backing flanges. Due to the shape memory of PTFE the PTFE flange collars are covered with end caps and distance bolts.
Angular PTFE expansion joints
An angular PTFE expansion joint consists of a PTFE bellow with PTFE collar and turnable backing flanges, equipped with hinges. The hinge construction connects both flanges preventing the expansion joint to elongate. Due to the hinge an angular expansion joint can only compensate an angular movement.
Lateral PTFE expansion joints
A lateral PTFE expansion joint consists of a PTFE bellow with PTFE collar and turnable backing flanges, equipped with lugs for tie-rods. The tie-rods connect both flanges preventing the expansion joint to elongate. Therefore a lateral expansion joint can only compensate a lateral movement.
