Product information

Triple eccentric butterfly valves have an additional eccentricity compared to double eccentric butterfly valves. In addition to the fact that the blade is displaced axially with respect to the shaft and the shaft itself is displaced with respect to the center (the first two eccentricities), a third eccentricity is applied by adjusting the seating surface.

The result is lower friction during valve closure, which results in better sealing and less wear in the long run.

Application

Triple eccentric butterfly valves realize a better, ''frictionless'' seal and have less long-term wear than double eccentric valves when the medium is relatively ''clean.''

As a result, these valves are widely used in steam applications and other demanding conditions where long-term performance without maintenance is required. However, there is debate about the applicability of triple eccentric butterfly valves -especially the machined valve blade- in applications with media containing fouling.
