Gate valves

A gate valve shuts off the flowing medium in the pipe by closing a slide in flow direction. The design of the slide determines for which application the valve is best suited.

In general, gate valves are used for media and conditions where ball valves and butterfly valves are unsuitable. Good examples are pulp and paper processes, sludge and water treatment processes, fibers and applications in which the medium contains slurry and solids.
