The sprocket actuator (Type K) can be used when a valve is positioned such that the actuator cannot be easily or impossibly operated from an easily accessible position. If manual operation is nevertheless desired in this case, this can be achieved with the application of a sprocket.
The valve is implemented with a rising spindle connected to a chain. Through the sprocket the chain is transferred to a location easily accessible to the operator. When the operator operates the chain then this movement is transmitted through the sprocket to the valve so that the slide can be opened or closed.
As standard, the sprocket is made of cast iron and is suitable for a chain according to DIN 766A. The chain is made of stainless steel 316. The length of the chain can be adapted to the situation on site.
The use of sprockets is recommended for gate valves with sizes from DN50 to DN400.
