Impact Spring Assist

The purpose of the Impact™ Spring Assist is to increase the performance of single-acting pneumatic actuators by providing a boost. In a fail-safe actuator, the compressed air present in the actuator pre-loads the springs.
During normal operation, each time the solenoid is activated, compressed air is vented into the atmosphere through the outlet port of the solenoid valve or actuator. The purpose of the IMPACT™ spring assist is to direct some of this energy back into the spring chamber in order to increase the actuator's torque by at least 50%. This accessory therefore allows one to use a smaller actuator to deliver the same output.
In addition, the impact spring assist functions as a filter that protects the actuator's internal parts and chambers by allowing only dry and filtered instrument air to flow into the spring chamber.

Application
This accessory can only be used with an OPEN/CLOSE function and is not suitable for control valves. The spring assist can be mounted directly on pneumatic actuators via the NAMUR interface of the actuator or solenoid valve.
