The tapered insert ring can be laid loose on the inlet side of the valve before mounting the valve between the counter flanges.
The ring reduces the inlet of the valve relative to the outlet. Its conical shape directs the medium to the center of the passage and prevents solids from remaining in the dead spaces of the valve. In addition, the ring protects the bores of the valve, which are completely free of wear as long as the ring is mounted. Thus, the conical ring becomes a wear part that can be exchanged preventively when needed.

Application
The conical insert ring can be applied when there is a risk that the medium may damage the bore rings and seats during normal operation. The conical ring can be easily clamped between the flange and the valve. No modification of the valve is required.
