The material of wear parts such as the slide, bore rings and spindles can be reinforced to make a valve more suitable for different conditions. Examples include hardened materials, tungsten carbide coatings, ceramic protective coatings or slides and bore rings made entirely of ceramics. Materials such as Duplex, stainless steel 904L and other special alloys are also possible. Thus, wear can be delayed or even prevented.
