The Stenflex rubber expansion joints type Ai-2 (or type Ai-4) are standard rubber expansion joints with PTFE insert, rotatable flanges and tie rods. Various flange bores are possible. Due to the PTFE insert, there is no direct contact between the medium and the rubber bellows. Thanks to the tie rods, the pressure reaction force in a system is absorbed.
Type Ai-2 and type Ai-4 :
- In type Ai-2, the tie rods are limited only on the outside, which prevents the expansion joint from extending.
- In the type Ai-4, the tie rods are bounded both on the outside and on the inside, preventing the expansion joint from lengthening and compression. As in vacuum.

Application
The Stenflex rubber expansion joints type Ai-2 and type Ai-4 are generally applicable. The PTFE liner makes the expansion joints very suitable for foodstuffs or aggressive media. The expansion joints are also good for absorbing vibrations from pumps or absorbing lateral pipe displacements.
