Core-bearing PTFE sliding plates
Core-bearing PTFE sliding plates
Core-bearings PTFE slide plates or PTFE plain bearings are used where devices or pipes must be able to move with a very low frictional force. The PTFE sliding plates can take a high axial load and have a friction value less than 0.1. The bearings consist of a carrier containing PTFE sliding plates and a polished stainless steel counter bearing.
In flat PTFE plain bearings, the counter bearing must cover the entire PTFE plate. Thus, the structure above the bearing must not tilt or deflect. In tilting PTFE bearings, the PTFE is in a bowl-shaped carrier that can tilt slightly in the lower holder. Thus, in these plain bearings (WBC or BBC), the upper assembly may tilt or deflect slightly.

Application
Applications for Core-bearings PTFE plain bearings include high temperature boilers and reactors and long pipeline runs. In addition, there are applications where heavy construction is slowly shifted such as the soccer field at the Gelredome stadium, the retracting of bridges and the launching of ships.
